Teeth Whitening: Combining Different Techniques

By Mark Douglas

In the Cosmetology & Health care Industry, everyday we see the introduction of a new product in the market. A best example is, in the field of Tooth whiteners & bleachers, where one would come across a lot of products that are being introduced into the market and invariably each of them promises of giving those dull yellow-colored teeth a new shinny look. The end result for us is more confusion than solution as the market is flooded with a huge varieties of teeth whitening products.

A brief research on this subject or consulting a dentist, will reveal that there are a lot of remedies available for whitening your teeth. However the point to remember is that though these techniques and products may be effective, they do not guarantee your teeth continuing to sparkle & remaining white.

The primary cause for tooth stains & for our teeth to lose shine even after undergoing a whitening treatment is our consumption of dark color fluids like coffee, tea, red wines, aerated drinks & a lot of such kinds. In keeping with the lifestyle, many of us cannot forgo these drinks, which means, we need to evolve a way to keep our teeth looking white.

To begin with, we first need to get our teeth whitened and a best possible way to do that is Power Whitening. You can use it with or without the light technology. In the light technique, an argon laser light or a blue light is applied to the teeth, while in the non-lighting technique, a high concentrated hydrogen peroxide solution is applied on the teeth surface within a period of 15 minutes for four times.

Now once you have got those white pearls, its necessary that they need to remain that effect that way. The method for this is to use custom trays at regular intervals. Made of flexible and clear plastic, these trays are fitted on the teeth for whitening. The biggest plus point of these custom trays is that they retain the whitening solution for a maximum duration as compared to other whitening products. In addition, they are more affordable than the other available teeth-whitening products.

If whitening trays are uncomfortable to use, which depends on person to person, another remedy is to use a Brush-on system. Offered by only selected manufacturers, brush-on systems come in the form of stylish pens. These easy-to-use pens produce a whitening agent on the surface of the teeth they are applied to. The biggest plus point of this teeth-whitening product is they are convenient to use & just require a simply touch-up.

The next possible method is trying out whitening gels. Whitening gels are water-based products comprising of hydrated gel with a neutral pH that ensures hydration to the tooth enamel. Whitening Gels are now also available in mint flavor and some companies offer 100% satisfaction guarantee on these cheap and easy to use products.

Now, you know about all the teeth whitening options available in the market and how to mix them for better results. However if you are thinking how safe are these products, then read on. Most these products comprise hydrogen peroxide in concentration that is completely safe for the teeth. In fact according to some recent studies and researches, none of these teeth whitening products are seen to have any side effects. These safe products are not even considered as drugs, however, if you still want to be at a safer side, just consult your dentist before using any teeth whitening products. - 15438
