The Joy Of Live Football Games

By Kevin Owen

Soccer fans all over the world look forward each week to following and watching their favorite teams play. The feeling they have is unrivalled in many aspects of their lives. Not only does this practice become a habit, but it borders on the religious.

The trip to and during a soccer game can stoke the fires in fans' bellies. The excitement is strong and can be felt whether one attends the game with fellow fans or as an individual. Those who prefer going in large groups can do so with fan clubs who prefer having organized trips, engaging in songs and dance as they make their way there.

Some of the best stadiums around the world are filled with colorful banners and signs. These are often created by fans to encourage and motivate their teams, while declaring their undying loyalty. It is amazing how something as simple as a banner can add so much to a live sporting event.

While most of the cheering is done inside the grounds, doing it outside, before and after the games are equally important. For the uninitiated, watching the loud crowds going to and from matches and singing their hearts out can be inspiring and intimidating at the same time. But it is an integral part of creating the right environment for a great day out for soccer.

It can a once in a lifetime experience to visit a live soccer match and hear the boisterous atmosphere that permeates the occasion. The songs and cheers can often be heard even outside the stadium enclosures. Even the non-football fan cannot avoid feeling an exhilarating sensation influenced by the joy and passion from the fans.

To generate a lively mood, organized cheering and support sections within the stands are conducted. These are often supported using different methods and instruments. The Mexican Wave is one such phenomenon whereby fans jump up and down on their seats to create a wave-like effect across the turnstiles.

It is unavoidable that some dangerous paraphernalia will be present during games as well. Some of these include flares and bottles, while even something like a cigarette lighter can be used as weapons. Flares are still out for the jury, as proper use can add to the colorful scenes. But some of these objects have caused more harm than good in violent clashes between fans.

Most football games have minimal risks though, and are generally safe for fans of the sport. It is also difficult to not want to travel to games once the first time is done, as the enjoyment is unmatched for the most part. It is also common for fans to bring their families along when possible and that is what keeps the sport growing and fans returning to the grounds for the experience. - 15438
