Accessories That Make Trampolines Safe For Your Children

By Ned Dagostino

The trampoline is an excellent activity equipment to let your child, hyperactive or otherwise, release the pent up energy of childhood. Parents know that almost every activity involving children is beset with risks. When the activity involves the child shooting up from a rubber mat to a dizzying height and then come flying down, again and again, the parent knows that an accident is just bound to happen!

If you are one such parent, then take a look at the accessories that can minimize the risks of jumping on a trampoline.

The most common accident on a trampoline is when the child falls out of the area covered by the trampoline mat. This can be averted by buying and erecting a trampoline net that contains the child to the 'safe' area covered by the trampoline mat. So even if he's 10 feet up and is falling outside the mat area, the net will guide him back to the mat, thereby preventing a visit to the nearest emergency clinic. Good, isn't it?

There are other safety accessories that enhance the safety level of a trampoline.

The frame of the trampoline is made of hardened steel. The trampoline comes supplied with frame padding. With time and use, the frame padding loses its protective power. You should replace the frame padding if necessary. If Junior hits the unprotected steel frame he could easily lose a tooth or worse.

Practical sense tells us that a wet trampoline mat is a slippery mat. If your child slips on the mat in the course of play, he can easily fall off the trampoline mat and hurt himself. Use a trampoline cover to keep the trampoline dry and safe.

Getting worried for their children's safety appears to be the top priority for any and all parents! However, just worrying and doing nothing about safety issues is of no use. The wise parent will buy safety equipment for the trampoline so that he is assured of his child's safety on the trampoline. - 15438
