What it REALLY Takes to Reach Your Fitness Goals

By Marcus Martinez

I was thinking one day what it really and truly takes to reach your fitness goals. Whether the goal is to gain muscle, lose fat, run faster, or whatever, what does it take?

Whether I'm setting my own fitness goals, or helping the people I train to fit theirs, I always try to remember that a new routine, piece of equipment, nor supplement will really make it happen. What will make it happen is intense, hard work.

When you add intensity to your efforts towards meeting your fitness goals, you are much more likely to achieve them. Once you set your fitness goal, visualize yourself reaching it, then push it every time your workout to make it there.

Think of it this way: will taking it easy when you workout do anything? How about finding a comfortable amount of weight to lift, then doing the same amount every single time. No! The only thing that will push your towards your fitness goals will be working hard with as much intensity as you can handle! Lifting heavy, sprinting, and pushing it every time you workout will do it!

Most people will not push themselves hard enough to get real results. How could your body change if you're not pushing it past where it is right now? You need to train with high intensity, running that extra distance, using a heavier kettlebell, and giving that extra effort that will help you reach your fitness goals.

Whatever it is, push yourself harder, heavier and more efficiently and you will see results, guaranteed. There is no magic pill, nutritional supplement or super food that can do that for you. My unfortunate dose of reality is that changing your body is a grind where mental and physical weakness must be conquered and the result is a body you can be proud of. - 15438
