Weightlifting Fitness for a Strong Sexy Body

By Paul Williams

Fitness is hard work for some, especially if you have been putting off getting fit just until tomorrow. The truth is that your overall health is dependent on your body, so fitness is not something that we should put on hold.

Being fit means that your heart is healthy and your lungs are strong. Your body will benefit in many ways from stronger muscles, but bench pressing 500 pounds is really not needed.

Is there a fast track way to losing weight and getting fit? Surely hours on the everyday is not the only way?

Cardio workouts like jogging, for example are essential to your heart and lungs, but did you know that you can get faster fitness and weight loss results by taking part in a weightlifting fitness program?

Before you think about turning into the Hulk, don't panic! Weight lifting has been a proven exercise for a great number of years and has many benefits:

-When you build muscle, you drop weight faster by burning a larger amount of fat, even when you sleep!

- Bones become stronger.

- Muscles become stronger and more energized.

You can either do weightlifting fitness at home or in the gym. At home you will simply need to purchase a set of dumbbells and optionally, a barbell. These will come with round weights but you can buy more weights depending upon your weight lifting limits.

By starting with a weight that is manageable and not too heavy and progressing only when you are ready, You'll see changes in muscle definition and body shape in a few short weeks

Weight lifting gives you quicker results than simply walking or biking. But you shouldn't turn your back on your cardio routine either. It's essential to your body. Strive for a mix of 50% weight workouts and 50% cardio workouts.

A great routine to get into is to do your cardio work in the morning (say 30 minutes of fast walking) and then weights in the afternoon. But never work the same muscle with weights 2 days in a row: they must recover first. In fact, training the same muscle group just twice per week is fine as the muscle actually grows when you are recovering from a workout. - 15438
