There are several risks of gastric bypass surgery. This procedure assists in creating a way to limit the intake of food items to a certain location.

More specifically, a small pouch like area that is created during the surgical procedure is the area where the food should enter. Gastric bypass surgery works to "bypass" certain areas of the small intestine.

This way, the body is limited in the amount of nutrients and other substances that are absorbed. Here, you will be introduced to some of the risks that may occur when one has a gastric bypass surgery.

The first risk of gastric bypass surgery is that the band that restricts the amount of space is available in the stomach may stretch or even break. The second risk is that the skin of the pouch that is created my stretch and may result in many of the same problems before the surgery.
