How Might A Trampoline, Or Rebounder, Help Me To Lose Weight?

By Jane Bracken

Can the childhood toy trampoline really transcend into adult and help one to lose weight? And will this weight loss be quick or slow-coming? The questions are endless, but hopefully this article will help to answer most of the questions you may have.

Exercising on a trampoline is not just about jumping up and down. Instead, one engages in more complex movements such as jumping jacks or quickly running in place. You may find that these movements are easier to perform on a smaller trampoline, which might also be easier to fit in your home workout space. Be sure that you appropriately choose your trampoline so that you can avoid injuries.

Some trampolines can be very expensive, but if you shop around you will find that there are many low-priced trampolines that are just as suitable for exercise as their pricier counterparts. Pay attention to the quality of the trampoline, however, as you may risk injury in buying cheap and poorly -made trampolines.

Trampolines are also referred to as rebounders. While they are the same thing, higher quality trampolines are often exclusively referred to as rebounders. Knowing this term will help you to research all sorts of trampolines and choose the best one.

For how jumping up and down can be a good workout however, it is simply that the body cushions itself each time you hit the trampoline, and pushes off each time you want to go up. This work that your legs need to do to keep you going up and down requires constant flexing and un-flexing of muscles that forces the heart to start pumping blood, making it a very good cardiovascular workout.

Will weight loss be rapid or slow-coming? Weight loss results from the combination of both exercise AND healthy eating habits, or dieting. If you continue to eat poorly, weight loss from exercising on a trampoline will be slow-coming, and vice-versa.

However, if you have a healthy diet, and one that you can continue, then a daily workout with a trampoline might be a good idea. This comes from a trampoline being a more interesting workout than other devices. While others, such as an ab wheel, might tone a specific part of your body, or devices such as a bicycle might give you a good cardiovascular workout, using a trampoline gives a fantastic mix of all of them. It provides an excellent cardiovascular workout, while toning your legs, thighs, and buttocks.

The ultimate reason for a trampoline is that it provides exercise that is fun, accessible, and ultimately effective at improving your quality of life if done correctly. Keep up the exercise and weight loss is going to happen. If you ever get down just remember a dream I had as a kid. In this dream, a trampoline trampolines itself onto the roof of our house, resulting in my crying when I woke up about our trampoline running away. If that is not inspirational, then I hope it is at least humorous. Keep up your good health, and be happy. - 15438
