Home Remedies For Treating Dark Circles

By Mandy Urban

Our body has several ways of telling us how old we are getting and few are more apparent than dark circles under our eyes. Treating these saggy, under eye bags is a challenge many of us struggle to overcome.

The pressure to appear younger today is so great, celebrities are having expensive procedures to bring back their youth. Many of us can't finance such procedures so we try retail products like creams and serums, which aren't guaranteed to work. But there are some remedies you can try at home to treat dark eye circles.

The best place to start is to change a few bad habits and implement better, healthier ones. Its essential to adopt a strict regimen of healthy behavior as an element of your skin care plan. Over time it becomes easy to abuse the bodys ability to repel harmful toxins and substances. So just think of your routine as your way of helping your body and skin maximize their potential to be effective for as long as possible. Every day you follow your healthy routine, you'll be adding years to your skins health and help sustain its vibrancy.

Here is a short list of things you can do on your own or find in your home to incorporate into your daily routine to help reduce the appearance of dark circles under the eyes:

Grate a cucumber and squeeze juice into a cup. Dip 2 cotton balls into juice and place one over each eye for about 15 minutes.

Use a potato in the same process.

Get at least 8 hours of sleep a night.

In a bowl mix lemon juice paste, tomato puree, orange lentil flour (masoor dal) and turmeric powder.

Apply with a qtip to dark circles, leave on for 15 minutes, and then wash off completely.

Stay away from bleaches and peels that claim to lighten skin.

Drink at least 8 glasses of water per day.

Eat lots of fruits and vegetables.

Find ways to reduce stress like practicing yoga.

In the morning, tap the skin under your eyes lightly with 1 or 2 fingers. This will increase blood flow.

Dont scratch the skin under your eyes. If you have to, lightly dab it with some cold water.

Dip 2 cotton balls in rose water and lightly dab around your eyes.

Place 2 cold cucumber slices over your eyes.

Our bodies are sensitive and respond quickly to changes in levels of vitamins and minerals. So try focusing on practicing a healthy diet and if you decide to use a cream or serum to clear dark circles, make sure those products contain natural ingredients.

I encourage you to try these at home and you'll find your dark circles will disappear over time and your face will become brighter, healthier and younger looking! - 15438
