There are basically three types of extreme mountain biking. The first extremely dangerous one is the downhill and free ride. The individual must be fit both physically and mentally for this. Those who are not confident about the balancing of their bike should never think about this. This involves the fatal risks you ride downhill with the highest possible speed. A single mistake can be fatal as you ride downhill. You should be perfectly confident about the physical flexibility of your body also.

As a biker you must train yourself and learn all the possible skills of biking in order to fit into the category of those downhill mountain bikers. It needs lots of both physical and mental pressure. I repeat if you get stressed and have stressed related disorder drop the idea of extreme mountain biking.

The mountain climbing and uphill bike riding is the second most famous extreme mountain biking. This is also quite dangerous and demands high physical and mental abilities. Rather it is little less dangerous and risky then downhill mountain biking.

Then comes the last one, the cross country Extreme Mountain biking. Specialized S-Works bikes are used for this type. This is considered safer of the three. Still it also demands the same physical and mental abilities but involves least risk when compared to the other two.
