There are two kinds of professionals in the world: those who love to live a healthy lifestyle and those who dont know how to do it. It is not the fault of the second type that they do not engage in exercise as often as they would like. For busy professional lifestyles are to blame. It is part of the way of life - deskbound and fat accumulating.
Healthy Executives / Professionals
Andrea Brown who is a 32-year old graduate and a senior media consultant for Coca-Cola tries to work in a healthy life with her work:
"I generally try to eat proportioned amounts of healthy foods"
Not only that- Brown uses stairs often and finds every opportunity to be physically active. It doesnt take much to take the load off the cardiovascular system. Just moving about and avoiding shortcuts like escalators and elevators can make your heart that much stronger.
Who needs gyms?
Andrea live in an area surrounded by small hills so she likes to put on her walking gear and engage in some high intensity power walking. Her trips around the small hills take an average of 30 to 40 minutes at a time.
Andrea Comments:
"I have a lot of hills in my neighborhood, and that walk is tough.
Exercise can be good while pregnant
Denita Thompson-Maclin knew that she should start exercising when she became pregnant. The threat of diabetes and preeclampsia weighed heavily on her mind. Thats why the senior media consultant from Burrell Communications in Chicago decided to do "aqua exercises".
"I was not exercising before I got pregnant. I thought I might as well try to do something, so I started [aqua aerobics] in my second or third month. The exercise really helps. We do jumping jacks and run in the water. There's no way I could do that before."
Diets
Diets need to be approached with caution. Diets like Atkins and South Beach work for particular body chemistries only. They also work best if your lifestyle suits the diet.
Sometimes, high fat diets can spell trouble for those with kidney problems. Low-carbohydrate diets on the other hand, can cause people dizziness, nausea and fainting spells. If you can, consult with your physician first and give your physician the intricate details of the new diet that you want to start.
Diets will not, or should not, cause rapid weight loss. Be cautious of commercial diets claiming secrets that the doctors or government hate.
Many commercial diets are launched without the government or many doctors knowing. These diets are not regulated by the government but this does not mean that they cannot do harm.
The use of diet pills is also not a good quick-fix alternative to exercising. The only drug that has been approved by the medical establishment is the chemical drug named orlistat, which is now being marketed under several brand names. - 15438
