Choosing Between Machine Or Free Weights

A lot of gyms nowadays carry both machine weights and free weights, allowing people to choose on what weight training equipment they might like. Beginners, usually, are encouraged to use lighter weights, adding more pounds as you improve. Free weights are ideal for beginners, since they are much easier to use.

Free weights come in a variety of sizes, with each one designed to work out a specific part of your body. Some are designed to give you achieve good form, and balance while working out.

The most commonly used free weights are barbells and dumbells, which you can find in any fitness shop. They are great for building upper body strength, and working out your back and shoulders. Most beginners are adviced to life no more than five pounds, only adding more weight as you progress with your weight training regimen.

Advanced users usually move on to work out using machine weights, which has heavier weights. This eliminates the need for a spotter, since there are no free weights to catch when you accidentally drop them. Machine weights have their own support, so can just let go if you think it's too much for you.

Machine weights come in different sizes and models as well, and most of them are designed to work out the whole body-starting from chest, biceps, down to your thighs and legs.

That's why you can find a lot of machine weights in gyms. If you're going to be doing a lot of weight training, then you might want to buy some protective gear from when you work out. Support gear such as wrist-bands and knee bands are usually enough.
